Kristin McNeill Kristin's rich and evocative style was influenced by the lush environment of her youth. She was profoundly influenced by her supportive family of artists and professors. She was born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1977. She started drawing and won awards at an early age. Later during high school she began utilizing her talents by doing faux finishes with a set designer for Theatrikos theatre. ~ In college, she was fascinated by many mediums and is well versed in the fine arts. Her studies and her early apprenticeships including working in a nationally renowned bronze foundry gave her an amazing foundation for the knowledge of materials and how they work. She reclaimed her love for paint by received her BFA in painting and figure drawing from Northern Arizona University. She enhanced her love for the arts with graduate work in painting at California State Northridge California. ~ Her professional work in the decorative arts became realized after her apprenticeship with "Master of the Southwest" artist Nedra Foster in Arizona. Later she also trained with French artist Virginie Dubois in Atlanta. She then returned to Los Angeles taking on many commissions. But her love for the desert and family brought her back to Scottsdale, Arizona where she began her own company in 2001 and currently works throughout all of the southwest. ~ After returning from a interior design trip to France, McNeill commenced to make the body of work for which she is widely known. Critical recognition for McNeill came quickly with many of her early commissions. Namely, the historic restoration of the entire The Wrigley Mansion in Phoenix AZ. ~ Her extensive and beautifully innovative portfolio was developed though her many commissions and hours of studio work Her extensive training and experience have enhanced her natural ability to create an incredibly innovative approach to the decorative painting industry. ~ McNeill has established herself and her company as one of the master decorative painting companies in Arizona. Her fine faux finishes and art commissions can now be found in Arizona, Los Angeles, New York, Las Vegas, and across North America. In 2006 her company was awarded Best Entryway in America as well as 5 other nominees at The National Fauxcademy Awards in Las Vegas.
